Next we saw Amanda Shaw and the Cute Boys. She is a teen-age
fiddle-playing sensation who brings a youth-oriented modern
sensibility to traditional Cajun music. She interjects her own
take on rock songs like the Clash’s “Should I Stay or Should I Go”
(which works surprisingly well in a Cajun/Zydeco flavor) with
traditional songs like “Iko Iko” and her own originals such as
“I’m Not a Bubble Gum Pop Princess”. When I grow up, I want to be
just like Amanda Shaw!
